Nice site I,ve been running a 72 2000 for about 4 years now (the natural progession for a Vanguard 6 nutter, which in it's self was a great leap foward from a 62 betel, yippie no more metric !!) in that time Ive put 42k miles more on the clock. Though I must admit at the 28k mark the lands on N,o 5 piston gave out nessataiting a rebuld. I droped a 2.5 S running gear in instead for the total sum of Aus$ 500. which is sill going strong. Two weeks ago my wife and I relised our dreams purchasing a 74 PI estate (very rare in Oz), its dressed up like an "S" and is running SU's which will be rectified in the future with a electronic management system. but best of all some major' nutter' has grafted a "A" type overdrive on the back of the "BW" 35 Auto, It works a treat and will be great for the highway trips we do a lot of . though oil controle is a bit of a problem (it realy does mark its teritory ) Happy motoring.

Nice Site......... As a kid one of my earliest memories was my Dad buying an eighteen month old car - LJC 352K - 2000Mk2 Auto from Heron in Colwyn Bay. The car was in the family for 6 happy years and sold on to a family friend who ran her for a good 10 years or so. I have always been hooked on these fab motors, looks, style, comfort, performance they have it all and I want one! (2500S!!!)

Hi - I'm an ex-member, had a 1975 delft blue 2500TC for 10 years, '91 - 2001. Very sad to see her go, to help finance purchase of my current wheels, a 1981 (built) TR7 dhc. Miss the Register, and my sessions manning the Club stand at the NEC for a number of shows. Greetings to old friends who may remember me - Alan Crussel, Dave and Jean Hosegood, Alan and Sam in the Midlands to name but a few. Best of luck to the Register. Mike

I have owned 7 Triumph 2500 saloons, 5 of them PI, since 1997, but in 3 of them in particular I have travelled hundreds of thousands of miles in Australia. My current car is fully restored, painted "Capricorn Green" (a deep green with gold fleck used on the local Holden Commodore), 1972 manual overdrive. A fantastic car to drive, and reliable as long as you keep it maintained - paying particular attention to the front end, uni joints, and having frequent services. Goes flat out on freeways and tackles the Aussie dirt tracks admirably. A solid, enjoyable and fast car to drive.

I am a member of the "Register" and believe that club activities and the Six Appeal club magazine very good. I feel that this website is lacking the same quality. I understand that the Register is always in hope of selling some back issues of the club magazine but why can't some of the excellent articles of technical value or members' stories from back issues be included in this site. In short there is not enough content of any interest in this site. I do not wish to upset the creators of the Register website, just help improve things if possible. After all our cars have got some guts, so shouldn't the website reflect those SIX CYLINDERS.

HELP NEEDED...(Possible Rare Vehicle)..One of the Triumph's I own and in need of restoration is a 1968 M/K 1 PI. Reg' PNR-266G. First registered 6-11-68.... MD388DLO, Engine No CR147HE. I"ve been told it is one of only six white M/K 1 PI's that Standard Triumph had fitted with a special red interior (TRIM No. N 12 ) The old log book states that this vehicle was first registered to Mr Arthur Garabeld, Swan St, Loughborough, Leicester. and then 7 days later to a Mr Geoffrey F Caldwell, Holt Cottage, Holt Drive. Loughborough. I would be very grateful if anyone could let me know if Standard Triumph did release six white PI's with this special interior?.. Please Email. (This car maybe for sale)

My first visit to your great website for TR2000/2.5's! In the US, the 2000's were a rarity but I have been fortunate to own 2 in the past. I'd love to purchase a MKII 2.5PI but don't understand how the shipping to the US works. Currently own a '67 TR4A, 1 '68 TR250 (injected) and 2 '69 TR6's. Yes, I'm busy. With 2 little ones, the 2.5 offers a great family car with tons of fun! Keep up the good work and I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might be offering a 2.5 PI for sale. I will be traveling to the UK on business this summer. Regards, Jeff D.

Many a year ago, on buying our first 2500 TC we ended up joining the Register. Have had a wonderful time with them. Met Andy and Maggie Roberts, to whom we owe a lot. Sadly enough we had to move away from the big sixes, but once in a blue moon one spots one, and memories of the 5 we owned come right back. From overheating PI pumps to defrosting the carbs of a 2500 S using my wife's hairdryer (which meant the next day when she used it she stank like a petrol garage's forecourt (grin). The good-old days! Being the sort of representative for the STIR Rally in Renesse, the Netherlands where we had way too many guests (can one have that actually?) to being burned like a lobster at Stratford. Keep it going all of you, it is so nice to actually see all still in motion!

thought I'd catch up on the register since I left 8 years ago after selling my last 2000. My dad bought his 2000 in 1971. BVA849J, white with red cloth upholstery. I was 7 when he got it, and it was love at first sight; a love that never died. I cherished the car and did all the washing and waxing year after year. People thought I was off my head for thinking it would still be around when I was 17. Well, I passed my test first time in him (he was called 'Freddy T'), and had him to myself for another 7 years. MOT's were passed effortlessly year after year. Photo's were taken of me growing up with him from a boy of 7 till an oldie of 25. Unfortunately, the cost of petrol eventually forced the most reluctant sale, which I regret to this day. I can't begin to explain my horror when Cheshire Police phoned two weeks after a cash sale in Glasgow to see if I was still the owner. 'Freddy had been used in a ram raid on an off-sales and had come to a heartbreaking end to a wonderful life! I still wake up some nights, still driving him up Loch Lomondside to that wonderful roar. After a few years of withdrawal symptoms, I bought LRG615P, a lovely 2000 model in racing green with black interior. This one was an auto, which wasn't half as much fun as the overdrive on old 'Fred'. However, I had another 3-4 years of wonderful motoring. Once again, the effect on my wallet was too great and it (no name this time) had to go. He went to a good home in Oban and I believe is still around. My current car, a red diesel corsa which simply doesn't compare, is still serviced by John Sheldon, the Triumph trained mechanic in Glasgow who serviced old Fred from his 'running in' days. He shakes his head in dismay when I tell him to expect me to turn up with another old Triumph one day. He thinks the reliability of today is too great to give up, but I won't rest until I realise my dream of driving a mint white Stag with original burbling V8! Long live the wonderful owners who keep the 2000's going strong. A wonderful website, which fills me with nostalgia.
