Last Hurricane to land at Hawkinge Aerodrome
Taken in 1990, this was the last aircraft of any kind to land at
Hawkinge before the bulldozers moved in. Photo was taken by John Wiggins of the Cat and Custard Pot.

See if you can spot which bits aren't there anymore.

Dodgy Motors Limited, Paddlesworth
Would you buy a used car off these three? Mind you, it
could be argued that they are selling you a form of shed! Photo taken by Steph Harrison.

Hawkinge Village Sign
The infamous village sign, in a need of a slight repaint I think.

even when it hosts the Blood Mobile. Picture taken by Terry Scott.

Yup, there was nice weather last year and here's the proof. A good
combination of the new and the old with the cemetery wall in the background. Picture taken by Terry Scott.

Hawkinge Village Shops
A small selection of the shops on offer in the main street of Hawkinge. In this case
it is the Saddle Rack, purveyor of horsey bits and pieces though I don't believe the flowers were part of the feed supplies on offer. Picture taken by Terry Scott.

A quiet tribute
This temporary memorial was erected on the aerodrome
to honour pilot officer
Keith Gillman and others. Like most things in Hawkinge, some oik vandalised it shortly
afterwards, but Mario Sambucci re-erected it and took this photograph. Click on the
thumbnail to enlarge it.

his mother (Gladys Howland nee Brisley) in the front row with a ten gallon hat! Does anyone else recognise any of
the other troop members? If so let us know at info@hawkinge.com.

Black Horse Fund Raising
A photograph taken at a fund raising event. Jim Carr who supplied the photo says that,
"Ru is in the foreground and it is his brother in the background. You can recognise the family resemblance".

 |
Black Horse Fund Raising 2
At a recent fund raising function for Dogs For the Blind Steve the barman offered his face up to have wet sponges thrown at him.
"He normally looks like this????", according to Jim Carr who supplied this photo as well.

Wot no Water?
Lounger Pools builds swimming pools of all shapes and sizes. This particular one
is only 13 feet by 6 feet and five feet deep. Still probably bigger than my own back garden though! Photo by Jim Carr.
