Rover V8 sump

As some of you may have read before, I've been (slowly) putting a Rover V8 in my mk 2 2000. It previously had a Stag V8, but I don't want to talk about that sorry tale anymore!

Today, I fitted a propshaft that I had made by a company called Reco Prop, based in Luton. They made a super job. Another job that I have been putting off was re shaping the sump. Now I need some advice here from someone who's done this. To get it to fit around the crossmember I've had to lose a couple of litres capacity. How will this affect it? will I still only fill it up to the mark indicated on the dipstick, or do I now need to put a bit more in for luck? Anyway, all cut and welded up again, and it's still fairly flat. I reckon I should get away with only about a dozen gaskets.

Any advice gratefully recieved,

Paul
