The RainX product puts an invisible silicon film on your glass. The silicon prevents any water from sticking to the glass. It is very effective with any amount of rain more than a thin drizzle. Having a clean window certainly helps to keep the rain from obscuring your vision, but a clean window and wipers is not nearly as effective as a RainX type product functioning alone. I have been using it for years on my TR250. My wiper motor broke in 1988 (I live in California USA so no MOT!) and I have been using RainX ever since with perfect visibility. Good Luck!
