Mk1 PI Swirl Pot

I have a swirl pot and bracket that belongs to a MkI PI that I am installing on to my GT6 (hides from flames). I was hoping that someone could tell me which pipe is which coming out of the top, I guess it should be 1 in 1 out and 1 return (from where)?

Any help greatly appreciated.
