1. Ignition on. Listen for the change in pump note as the fuel pressure builds up. 2. Clutch down. 3. Choke fully out. 4. Crank it over, foot off the accelerator. 5. Catch it on the acclerator as it fires. 6. Do NOT rev it up; get some oil on those bearings first. 7. Drive off (don't sit there like a lemon 'letting it warm up' - bad practice). 8.Gradually feed the choke back in. 9. Smile - you're under way in a PI and, no doubt, an object of wonder for all and sundry to gaze upon in slack jawed delight!! (Those MPG figures sound about right for a healthy PI) Rgds Alex
